Leonardo Kamilius

Leonardo is the founder and former CEO of Indonesia Love Cooperative (“KKI”), a Jakarta-based social enterprise that empowers low-income families. Under his stewardship, KKI supported over 30,000 beneficiaries through a multifaceted approach encompassing regular training, fostering saving habits, and microloans.

Leonardo received the Ernst & Young Indonesia Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2014 for his work at KKI. Before KKI, he was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. He holds a master’s in public administration from Harvard Kennedy School (class of 2023) and a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Indonesia.

His research focuses on investigating the reasons behind the persistent, Dutch-instilled anti-Chinese racism in Indonesia. He also aims to identify strategies to address this issue, which will lead to better racial harmony and ultimately strengthen Indonesia’s national unity.
