Shuanglian Chen is a research fellow and vice president at the Guangzhou Institute of International Finance, Guangzhou University. She has been actively engaged in research on green finance and green industry development, financial risk management, financial statistics, and the history of financial development. The standard she is responsible for writing, named “Standard for Climate-friendly Evaluation of Enterprise (Project) Financing”, which was officially implemented in July 2024. This is the first local climate financing standard in China jointly developed by institutions from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau. Based on this standard, nearly $200 million in green bonds have been successfully issued. Her paper titled “Research on the Measurement of Systemic Financial Risk: Based on Financial Stress Index” is one of the top 10 most cited articles from 2013 to 2023. She is also the Deputy Editor in Chief of the book “Contemporary Finance: A History of Guangdong”, which was awarded as national think tanks’ excellent research achievement 2024.
Besides her research career, she has been serving as the general secretary of Guangzhou Finance Association, a non-profit organization in the financial industry. In this role, she helped develop Guangzhou’s financial sector and build a vibrant financial ecosystem.
