
Ying Zhang is a PhD Candidate in Modern Chinese History, Tsinghua University. Ying is currently following the interplay of transnational knowledge networks, technological diplomacy in modern China. Before joining Tsinghua’s School of Marxism, Ying Zhang earned her B.A and M.A. in Modern and Contemporary Chinese History from Beijing Normal University (BNU), where her award-winning thesis “Techno-politics of Revival: TVA Model Transfer in Jiangxi Water Conservancy under U.S. Aid (1946–1949)” used methodologies blending infrastructure studies with Cold War geopolitics.
As an active young scholar, Ying has participated in the academic symposium on the history of the Chinese War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. She had been undertaking the teaching work of the protection and dissemination of China’s cultural heritage. Further more , she served as a volunteer in the Beijing Olympics Winter Games.
