The Bold and the Brave: AAPI Leadership in Local Government
The Rajawali Foundation Institute for Asia invites you to watch a conversation with Lowell, Massachusetts Mayor Sokhary Chau. Mayor Chau is the first BIPOC mayor in Lowell, Massachusetts as well as the first Cambodian American mayor in the United States. He represents a city that has a 25 percent Asian American population. Mayor Chau shared his experiences fleeing from the Khmer Rouge as a child refugee, his life before getting elected to office, the campaign trail, and his visions for the future.
